Industry Partners and Connections
Working collaboratively with other industries for the benefit of the senior community
Financial Planners
Many Financial Planners are starting to incorporate home equity into the overall financial strategy for seniors. With the recent improvements to Reverse Mortgage they are recognizing how these products can be leveraged for the overall advantage of the clients they serve.
Energy/Climate Interests
There are many organizations and professionals focused on energy efficiency, sustainability, and climate-related initiatives. They are starting to recognize the significant alignment of interest there is with senior home financing and energy upgrades.
Building Contractors
While the seniors in our state are sitting on over $2 trillion in stagnant equity, they have very significant housing needs that are going unmet. Many of them would like to make aging-in-place improvements that promote accessibility, safety, and long-term independence. Some would like to add an accessory dwelling unit (ADU) for intergenerational living arrangements. Others would like to make their homes more energy efficient and comfortable. Reverse mortgage products offer them the opportunity to do whatever repairs or upgrades are important to them.
Insurance Agencies
Both Homeowners and Medicare Insurance providers can benefit from a better understanding of the ways a senior’s home equity can be leveraged to maximize their insurance coverage and strategies.
Realtors
There is a significant need in the senior demographic that is not currently being met. Many seniors are living in houses that no longer best serve their needs. Most Realtors are unaware of the highly advantageous financing options available to seniors. This means that seniors are not being informed of these opportunities to move to more suitable homes.
Senior Advocacy Organizations
These organizations support older adults through educational resources, community programs, and services designed to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life. In support of their missions, we are working diligently to raise their awareness of these opportunities and how seniors can benefit from them.
Credit Unions
Credit Unions and community Banks offer products and personal services that serve the senior demographic very well. However, many of them do not have access to the specialized senior products. We have work collaboratively with these institutions for the overall benefit of seniors.
Current Reverse Mortgage Holders
Because we take a very consumer oriented approach for the senior community we serve, we offer a lot of practical tips and suggestions to the clients we work with. We are very happy to share this information with people who have closed Reverse Mortgages with other lenders who may not have been as focused on their interests.
Trust Attorneys
One of the safeguards that was put in place to increase the protection for seniors who do Reverse Morgages has created a false sense of security in some ways. We strongly recommend to our clients that they have a trust in place if they have a Reverse Morgage on their property. We are trying to raise the awareness of this in the trust attorney community.
